Pictures of Our Trip

We got back Friday afternoon from our trip to Disney World and a few other short stops.  We had a fun time, and the weather was GREAT, although we hear we just missed some pretty bad storms one day.  We only had a little rain the last 2 days.  It only lasted about 1-2 hours each of those days.  The rest of the time was warm, sunny, blue Florida skies.  What a rude awakening to come home to 29 degrees.
I had a first during this trip.  At 41 years old, I rode my first rollercoaster--kind of dumb, huh?  I also rode my LAST rollercoaster.  I can spin on rides all day long, and they can even go up and down some like the dizzy disk, but I do not like sudden drops.  I've always hated the log flume, and quit riding it years ago.  Anyway, my first rollercoaster experience was Space Mountain.  For those who have never ridden it, it really isn't a "bad" rollercoaster.  The drops are small, and it's older, so it doesn't do any loops or wild things like the new ones.  However, it goes about 90 miles an hour in the dark.  I was sitting behind Ashley (who rode kind of relunctantly, too, but did ride twice), who was sitting behind Briana (who loved every second of it.)  I screamed hysterically the first half of the ride, resulting in a sore throat.  The 2nd half, I laughed hysterically.  Ashley heard me laughing, and she started laughing.  By the time we got off, we were both crying we were laughing so hard.  Then, of course, Disney has you step out onto one of their infamous "moving platforms".  That did it.  Neither of us could stand up straight.  We were laughing so hard and we were staggering all over the place--a combined result of the rollercoaster, laughing, and the "moving platform"!  It was a fun memory.  I hope it's a strong memory, 'cause it won't ever be repeated!
My favorite rides are Small World, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, and Soarin' (in Epcot).  We all also really like the 3D show at Magic Kingdom called Philharmagic.  My other favorite thing to do, besides seeing the characters, is spending time in the World Showcase in Epcot.  There are 12 different countries represented, and we love to shop and browse in the stores.  This year we ate dessert at the French bakery.  MMMMMM.  I used some Christmas money I had to do some shopping--lots of fun.
On the way home, we took an alternate route, and stopped for a visit withJune and her girls.  This is the first time we'd ever met.  They  are a really sweet family. She has five girls, and we have 4 girls, so it was quite a time once they warmed up.  I had a great time visiting with June.  We have quite a few things in common--even down to the car we drive and the camper we have!  We ate dessert at Cracker Barrel, then the younger girls played outside on the porch for a while, while we visited.  Here's a picture of the crew.  My poor outnumbered husband took the picture!

Now for the Disney pictures...  This is just a small sampling of the different characters we saw.

The first morning we had breakfast with the Princesses in the Norway castle at Epcot.

Helping Buzz Lightyear defeat the Evil Emporer Zurg!  : )

Dressed up like Aurora, with Aurora.

This one is back at the princess breakfast.  Mulan was so funny and sweet.

Green Army Man from Toy Story

These girls were really funny.  The Stepmother and stepsisters from Cinderella.

On our way home, we took a small detour out to Tybee Island, GA, and drove through Historic Savannah, GA.

I'll post some Sea World pictures later.  Hope you enjoyed a glimpse of our vacation.
